What does a first session with you look like?
The first session, as with all Thriveworks therapists, will involve talking through your needs and goals for therapy — whether those involve managing depression, anxiety, relationship problems, or another mental health challenge. This will enable you to receive the very best care, as a personalized treatment plan will then be developed for subsequent sessions. Thriveworks helps people live happier, more fulfilling lives. What is your style/approach to therapy?
I offer a variety of counseling approaches including CBT / Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems. I have 20+ years experience in the field, working in many different areas of the field, such as family therapy, individual therapy, court-ordered therapies, crisis services, in-home therapy, residential placement services, and outdoor restorative programs.

CrystalSomervilleis a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with over 20 years of experience in various mental health settings, including in-home therapy services, crisis, mobile therapy, and outpatient services, as well as residential boot camp for gang members/juvenile offenders from inner city Philadelphia, Delaware, and Maryland.Crystal works with families, couples, adults, and adolescent clients seeking help in managing issues related to attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anger, trauma, depression, anxiety, bipolar, adjustment, panic disorders, behavioral issues, and self-injurious behaviors. Crystal completed both herBachelor of Science (BS) in Religion-Youth Ministryand her Master of Arts (MA) in Professional Counseling at Liberty University. She is trained in trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach (A-CRA) for teen substance abuse, behavioral therapy, CBT, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, and solution-focused therapy. Crystal utilizes a very honest, direct, client-centered approach. She also enjoys incorporating art into therapy. Crystal seeks to establish a strong, therapeutic relationship with you in order to assist in building on your strengths and better collaborate with you towards meeting your goals. Her mission is not to judge, but to lift the fallen, restore the broken, and encourage healing.
