What does a first session with you look like?

The first session, as with all Thriveworks therapists, will involve talking through your needs and goals for therapy — whether those involve managing depression, anxiety, relationship problems, or another mental health challenge. This will enable you to receive the very best care, as a personalized treatment plan will then be developed for subsequent sessions. Thriveworks helps people live happier, more fulfilling lives. Clients are guided and supported as they work through their unique mental health challenges – and, along the way, shown the life-changing power of therapy.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I offer a variety of counseling approaches including CBT / Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems. As a cognitive behavioral and emotion focused provider, I understand that who you are now and who you want to be in the future, are probably not as far apart as you think.

What should we know about your experiences and background?

Danielle Ott is a Resident in Counseling in the state of Virginia and a Nationally Certified Counselor with the National Board of Certified Counselors. Danielle provides therapy and counseling to adults, teens, and couples who are seeking counseling for depression, anxiety, life transitions, self-esteem issues, and challenges regarding religion, spirituality, and the church. Danielle approaches each client from both a cognitive behavioral and emotion-focused approach, believing that both thoughts and emotions are equal components to successful healing. After working with numerous clients, Danielle understands that each person faces unique challenges and requires equally unique attention and treatment.
