What does a first session with you look like?

The first session, as with all Thriveworks therapists, will involve talking through your needs and goals for therapy — whether those involve managing depression, anxiety, relationship problems, or another mental health challenge. This will enable you to receive the very best care, as a personalized treatment plan will then be developed for subsequent sessions. Thriveworks helps people live happier, more fulfilling lives. Clients are guided and supported as they work through their unique mental health challenges – and, along the way, shown the life-changing power of therapy.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I offer a variety of counseling approaches including CBT / Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems. I possess a unique understanding of the challenges posed by addictions, anxiety, depression, trauma, and women's issues and I look forward to working with you to resolve the concerns that are present in your life.

What should we know about your experiences and background?

Danyell Collins-Facteau is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Substance Abuse Counselor with 13 years of experience in the behavioral health field. Working in settings such as correctional institutions, medication-assisted treatment, and community behavioral health provided Danyell with a deeper understanding of the multifaceted nature of mental health and substance use difficulties. She has dedicated her career to the provision of person-centered, strengths-based, recovery-oriented care to adults who experience addictions, anxiety, depression, life transitions, trauma, and women's issues. Danyell earned her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Old Dominion University. Her background includes extensive work with individuals experiencing a wide range of mental health and substance use disorders. She firmly believes that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to recovery and that recovery is possible for all. Danyell's work in the community behavioral health setting has emphasized a decrease in the stigma surrounding mental health and substance use concerns, and she is dedicated to empowering individuals to believe in their worth. Directly facing life's challenges can be intimidating and difficult.
