What does a first session with you look like?
The first session is really about getting to know you as the client, both in the sense of the mental health assessment and diagnostics, but also in identifying strengths and supports you already possess. From there, we will set goals together and build therapeutic trust and relationship.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I consider myself a very client-centered therapist, meaning that who you are as the client and your experience of therapy guides our sessions. I also utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Dialectial Behavioral Therapy, and Expressive Arts Therapy.
