The first session, as with all Thriveworks therapists, will involve talking through your needs and goals for therapy — whether those involve managing depression, anxiety, relationship problems, or another mental health challenge. I offer a variety of counseling approaches including CBT / Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems. Dr. David Harman has helped people of all ages to overcome challenges to their happiness and wellbeing.

Dr. David Harman is a Licensed Psychologist who has extensive experience assisting people to overcome difficulties such as depression, relationship issues, parenting concerns, and trauma. In all cases, Dr. Harman seeks to help individuals to develop a more positive and creative outlook on their life. He has 32 years of experience in the field. Dr. Harman completed his Master of Arts (MA) in Psychology at the University of Pennsylvania and his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Behavioral Sciences at the University of Chicago. He has received extensive training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and systemic family therapy, and he has received advanced training in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), a powerful tool for the treatment of trauma. Dr. Harman seeks to help individuals and families to experience emotional and spiritual healing, grounded in the practical realities of life. As part of that process, he assists people to tap into the wisdom of their body to help them to find their natural resilience and inner strength. Dr. Harman believes that challenges, however daunting, can become doorways to far greater personal freedom and fulfillment.
