What does a first session with you look like?
At the end of our first meeting, I will make some recommendations for what may help you reach your goal. I am known to send materials and worksheets to help clients between meetings. Sometimes I make a homework recommendation. I listen intently to make sure we have addressed what you wanted to address. I ask at the end of sessions 1. If we worked on what you were wanting to 2. If there was anything you would’ve liked to change about our meeting and 3. Rate on a scale how well you are functioning in areas of your life.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
In therapy I use the following models: Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Dialectical Behavioral therapy, Acceptance and Commitment therapy, Adlerian therapy and I’ve been trained in Gottman’s training for marriage and have taught parenting classes using the Positive Discipline method.
