What does a first session with you look like?

We'll lay the groundwork for our future sessions in our first session. I'll explain how therapy works, and ask you about what areas you want to work on, what your goals are for therapy, and what a successful outcome would look like for you. Most of all, I'll listen to you and try to make our time together safe and judgment-free. During our weekly one-hour sessions, we'll look at any outworn or harmful behavioral adaptations you've made to cope with your past traumas or challenges. Then we'll work on replacing those adaptations with new, healthier ways of thinking and behaving. You'll still be you at the end of our work together, but you'll be more peaceful, confident, and effective.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I utilize a variety of approaches, including Trauma-Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, DBT, EMDR, solution-based therapies, and mindfulness/guided visualization.
