What does a first session with you look like?
The first session is always devoted to information gathering. We will explore your goals and start to develop a map on what might get you there. We will change direction when appropriate.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
EMDR is my treatment of choice, but it’s not appropriate for everyone. You can do an internet search to read more about it. Internal Family Systems utilizes the idea that we are all composed of a collection of “characters “ that work together to get us through life. These characters are all useful in certain circumstances, but sometimes they may ”step in” when it’s not appropriate. Making friends with your “internal family” and helping those various parts of you work together can create significant change.
