What does a first session with you look like?

The first session, as with all Thriveworks therapists, will involve talking through your needs and goals for therapy — whether those involve managing depression, anxiety, relationship problems, or another mental health challenge. This will enable you to receive the very best care, as a personalized treatment plan will then be developed for subsequent sessions. Thriveworks helps people live happier, more fulfilling lives. Clients are guided and supported as they work through their unique mental health challenges – and, along the way, shown the life-changing power of therapy.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I offer a variety of counseling approaches including CBT / Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems. As a neurodivergent individual, I value the importance of meeting each person where they are in life and helping them to find empowerment through healing and reaching goals.

What should we know about your experiences and background?

Deborah Nantz is a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor (LAPC) and nationally-Certified Counselor (NCC)with over 5 years of experience in the mental health field. She works with children, teens, adults, and seniors who are experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, autism, ADHD, LGBTQIA+ issues, bipolar disorder, and women's issues. Deborah has a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of West Georgia where she served as the president of Chi Sigma Iota, a counseling honor society. She also taught college students about suicide prevention and intervention as a member of PREVENT@UWG. Deborah primarily uses an integrated therapeutic approach of Psychodynamic and Gestalt therapies. She helps the client to learn how to use the present moment to create and experience new ways of being. Life can be complicated, sometimes leaving us feeling disconnected or alone. Deborah wants everyone to know they don't have to stay stuck in that lonely space. If you would like to work on moving out of your stuck space, schedule an appointment with her today.
