Debra Jean-Laurent MA, LCDP

Debra Jean-Laurent earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Rhode Island and her master's degree in Agency Counseling with a Concentration in Chemical Dependency from Rhode Island College. She has been working in the field of mental health for over 30 years in a variety of behavioral health settings and has experience working with adults, children, teens and families who are struggling with a variety of issues. As a teenager I always knew that there were not enough places where others could go to breathe, to be, to experience unconditional acceptance, positive reflection and create alternative narratives and visions for themselves. I am passionate about self-discovery, exploration and healing. I have come to learn that a tremendous amount of people feel alone, disconnected, anxious and fearful. In the therapeutic relationship Debra helps her clients to see that they all have value. When I see people struggle, I want to reach out to encourage and help. We all need a helping hand.
