In our first few sessions, we will take the time to review your history and develop treatment goals. Throughout treatment, I will provide you with essential tools and resources to address your identified problem(s) and we will periodically assess your progress to fine-tune our collaborative approach. You will gain insight into your core beliefs and thoughts, how these affect your behavior, and how to change them.

I utilize an eclectic approach, which means I draw from a variety of tools from various models to help my clients meet their self-defined treatment goals: 1) Motivational Interviewing: client-centered counseling style for eliciting behavior change by helping clients to explore and resolve ambivalence 2) Solution-Focused Brief Therapy: finding solutions in the present and exploring one’s hope for the future to find a quick and pragmatic resolution to one’s problem 3) Crisis Intervention: taking steps to ensure immediate safety, de-escalate feelings, and make a plan for appropriate resources and ongoing treatment 4) Psychodynamic: a form of talk therapy that focuses on intrapsychic processes and the unconscious processing of experience 5) Human-Centered: a non-authoritative approach that allows clients to take the lead in sessions, and in the process, discover solutions 6) Cognitive Behavioral Therapy: a short-term form of psychotherapy based on the idea that the way someone thinks and feels affects the way he/she/they behave(s)
