What is your style/approach to therapy?

For most mood disorders, Dori believes that cognitive behavioral therapy and sometimes dialectical behavioral therapy are most effective. For couples, there is usually need to make some changes quickly that can help the relationship begin to head in the right direction. For that reason she believes that solution focused therapy is most effective with couples.

What does a first session with you look like?

During the first session Dori will work with couples and individuals to determine a clear statement of goals to be accomplished in therapy. During that first session we will work on the goals to be accomplished during each week. Sometimes that involves simple homework exercises designed to make behavioral changes to decrease depression and anxiety and improve couple relationships.
