What does a first session with you look like?
You are the expert on YOU. My responsibility is to be the "companion" on the journey that will point out blind spots along the way. Expect to gain new insight into yourself that will help you make better decisions that will enhance your present and your future self. Expect a judgement-free environment where you can share "the good, bad and ugly" of life that you are trying to make sense of and change.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I will use evidence-based strategies, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, where we can collaborate and figure out what will help you become more successful on this life journey. There will be homework assignments where you will practice discussed techniques and report on their progress to determine the best direction to help you grow. Although I am licensed in California and Texas as a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist, I reside in the state of Texas and only provide virtual sessions. For Californians, I will not have access to any in-state resources you may need.
