What does a first session with you look like?
The first session, as with all Thriveworks therapists, will involve talking through your needs and goals for therapy — whether those involve managing depression, anxiety, relationship problems, or another mental health challenge. This will enable you to receive the very best care, as a personalized treatment plan will then be developed for subsequent sessions. Thriveworks helps people live happier, more fulfilling lives. I offer a variety of counseling approaches including CBT / Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems.
What should we know about your experiences and background?
Ebony Fenwick is a Board-Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (SAC-BC) and Resident in Counseling (RIC) in Virginia who has over 10 years of experience working with adults who are suffering from addictions, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma, and PTSD. Ebony earned her Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. Recently, she began her doctoral studies with Walden University to focus on Counselor Education and Supervision. Ebony strives to provide excellent care to those who are dealing with a variety of personal issues that may result in negative emotions. Her theoretical orientation is cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), but has experience utilizing other therapies to assist her clients. She has completed training in Trauma Recovery Empowerment Model and Moral Reconation Therapy. Ebony is passionate about providing those she serves with the educational tools and emotional support to manage whatever challenges they are facing. Using compassion and empathy, she empowers others to make progress along their self-healing journey.
