What does a first session with you look like?

In our initial session, you can anticipate a compassionate and judgment-free space where we begin the important work of identifying your specific needs and goals. Our preliminary dialogue will pave the way for a tailored therapeutic approach, combining Dialectical Behavior Therapy and the Gottman Method. These evidence-based practices serve as a foundation upon which to construct a plan that addresses your unique circumstances, be it anxiety, relationship hurdles, or career concerns. As we continue our work together, I will equip you with practical coping strategies and actionable insights, all aimed at fostering resilience and emotional well-being. Sessions will involve not just talk, but meaningful, targeted activities designed to cultivate lasting change. This may involve homework assignments, guided practices, or strategic interventions that we'll discuss and debrief to ensure they are both effective and pertinent to your lived experience. Over the longer term, you can expect a tangible shift in your day-to-day life. Whether it's improved emotional regulation, healthier relationships, or a newfound clarity in your career aspirations, our ongoing therapeutic relationship will evolve to support your continuous growth. Through periodic reassessments, we will recalibrate our approach as necessary, ensuring that you are always progressing in a direction aligned with your life's objectives. My commitment to continuous learning means that our sessions will always be grounded in the latest psychological research and best practices.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

In my practice, I predominantly use two evidence-based treatment approaches: Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and the Gottman Method. DBT is particularly effective for individuals grappling with emotional regulation, interpersonal difficulties, and stress management. This method blends cognitive-behavioral techniques with mindfulness strategies. It provides a structured framework that helps you identify triggers, manage emotional swings, and improve your relationships through effective communication. The Gottman Method, on the other hand, is a therapy approach primarily used for couples but also applicable for anyone looking to improve their interpersonal relationships. This method is based on extensive research on relationship stability and highlights the importance of emotional connection, admiration, and effective conflict management. It offers practical tools for improving communication and deepening emotional bonds. In addition to these, I also integrate the insights I am gaining from my ongoing Ph.D. studies in psychology. My goal is to stay on the cutting edge of therapeutic methods to offer you a personalized blend of proven techniques tailored to meet your individual needs. Please note that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all endeavor, and the efficacy of any method can differ from person to person. We'll collaborate to decide the most fitting approach for you, regularly reassessing and adapting our strategies to best serve your needs.
