What does a first session with you look like?

The initial session will be informative and a time to get to know each other. We will work to establish goals for therapy and discuss what treatment methods may work best for you. Following sessions will vary based on treatment goals, but will be your time for yourself each week to process stressors and build skills to manage them outside of sessions. I strive to help clients build their self-worth and to become advocates for themselves.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

The foundation of my style of therapy has always been person-centered. I bring in different techniques depending on your needs. I utilize Mindfulness, CBT, DBT, CPT, ACT, art therapy, motivational interviewing, and even play therapy techniques. I also am a huge advocate in utilizing what a person is passionate about as part of the healing process such as: music, art, hiking, video games, comics, movies, sports, etc. Using activities you are passionate about can be a tool for developing confidence and self-worth.
