What does a first session with you look like?

My style of counseling is person-centered and relational. I am curious about your life experiences, about your struggles in life, about your dreams, and about your feelings and emotions. As a therapist, I will provide a space that is safe to explore your emotions, that will foster self discovery, and help ease your emotional pain. I will listen to you without judgement and will help you build skills that will help you feel better. You will find comfort, hope, motivation, and support to get well.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I have over 15 years of experience in outpatient therapy clinics as well as experience working in more intensive settings with people living with severe mental illnesses. My therapeutic foundation is in trauma and cognitive behavioral theory. We will look at your life's experiences and thought patterns to get insight into how these have shaped your life.
