What does a first session with you look like?
This is a great opportunity for us to get to know each other, see if it's a good fit. I provide information for a realistic set of expectations, We discuss what you are seeking out of therapy, and then we create a set of shared goalposts to hit together. If things match what you are looking for, we use the momentum to start crushing your goals. =)
What do you think is the biggest barrier today for people seeking care?
STIGMA! Others' judgy judgments and uninformed opinions, however unaware, can be so influential to impact our sense of security in approaching mental health care. It is so key we all work together to be more authentic in supporting one another's wellness journeys.
What excites you most about the evolving mental health landscape?
Neuroscience on how the brain learns, how the body stores and processes information, has been rapidly developing in the last 100 years. -- So rapidly that, in fact, some conditions that were once considered permanent disabilities, are now seen as potentially temporary conditions with the right clinical interventions and environmental variables as well as patient willingness to collaborate in the process. How incredible is science!? How incredible is human capacity!? =)

Work History
It is normal and okay for things to fall apart in life, and for people to change, including ourselves. I always feel it is a beautiful thing when people assess what is going on in their lives or in themselves, and take the first step towards help to come through stronger. My goal is to work with you to co-create a safe, authentic space where you feel supported to untangle the issues holding you back, and to start building the story you want moving forward. My professional approach is targeted, strategic, and specific to you. We clear through the mess, identify the true issues, and systematically address them. Then, we crush your goals. I work in a solution-focused, action-oriented, short-term manner with you through Choosing Therapy. I am a licensed professional clinical counselor under the Ohio Social Work Board. I have serviced patients and clients in all different settings, including but not limited to private practice, community mental health, church-based practices, rural practices, school-based services, the correctional system, nonprofit advocacy organizations, and hospital systems. I have expertise in trauma, dissociation and grief; I have been working with EMDR and evidence-based trauma therapies as long as I have been providing clinical care. I’ve been practicing since 2015. I am interested in helping people heal wholly. Wherever you are in your healing journey, there is no better day than today to get started.
