What does a first session with you look like?

In our first session we will focus on getting to know one another, while I ask specific questions to help me better understand what has brought you into therapy and what has happened in your past that might impact that. In follow-up sessions we will work together to learn skills and explore paths forward. It is my hope that you leave sessions with a sense of hope and relief, as well as tools to help manage symptoms.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I work from a Dialectical Behavior Therapy informed position which means I work to provide and utilize an open, honest, supportive, and judgment-free environment, pulling in techniques from a variety of evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I am a client-centered therapist, meaning you are the one driving therapy forward.
