From each encounter, my clients should expect a safe environment to be heard, respected and leave each session with a clear understanding of what the plan is for treatment and where they are on their treatment journey whether it is trying a holistic approach or starting psychotropic medication. I get it; life can be quite overwhelming sometimes. It takes a lot of courage to seek help, and since you are here, I applaud you for taking the first step toward keeping hope alive. Treatment begins with an Intake Interview; gathering information to get to know your current and past psych/medical history, deep review of symptoms you may be experiencing, a review of your history and a chance for you to share anything you feel is important that would give insight to what should be considered for your treatment. Please note, medications are not usually initiated at an intake appointment. Using information from your intake interview- we will determine a diagnosis based on DSM-V criteria. A diagnosis is not set in stone; the diagnosis can be updated as more information is revealed. Evidenced-based guidelines are then used to guide treatment. I also utilize a holistic approach as well as medication Evaluation and Management appointments and follow intake appointments.
