What does a first session with you look like?
Hopefully feeling empowered and seen. I offer lots of visual examples, support, humor, curiosity, and space for client to process their thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I utilize different modalities of therapy, such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), art, writing, mindfulness, psychodynamic, and positive psychology. I see a client's strengths before I ever see anything else and I tailor my therapy off the clients needs and I am a supporter of a client and their process. Typically, I engage clients in present first so that they can be grounded in here and now before we go into past or future so the client does not get lost in either past or future. I utilize body regulation to ground client into present and be aware of their feelings, their body and their thoughts.
