What does a first session with you look like?
This is a safe space- my goal is that you are comfortable and valued, and over time, able to see growth in yourself and in your relationships. The first 1-2 appointments are consultations lasting 45- 60 minutes. No med prescribing will occur at the initial appointment. Follow-ups are 15-30 minutes, including med discussion, therapy, placing orders and scheduling the next visit. Please check with your insurance on copay/ cost share expectations. The most common CPT codes utilized are 99205 for initial visit, and 99214 +90833 for follow-ups. Others may be used, depending on complexity, content and time.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
To start- we need to get a really good assessment. I utilize an eclectic mix of supportive therapies, motivational interviewing, education, and acceptance-based treatment. I may refer for regular counseling for additional care. We may have frequent appointments to give your needs the time you deserve.
