What does a first session with you look like?
The focus of the first session is to create a rapport with each client to assist in the ease of transitioning into counseling sessions. In addition, to have the client walk away with knowing their stated goals were discussed, with ways to adapt coping skills to those goals. It is always a hope that clients return, however, the initial session will allow each person to receive some resources and determine if they would like to continue with our services.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I use treatment methods and tools that work best for each individual client, including, but not limited to, Solutions-Focused Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive (Processing Thinking) Behavior Therapy, Dialectical (regulating emotions) Behavior Therapy and Motivational Interviewing Therapy
