What does a first session with you look like?
I usually start with an intake to assess what are the needs and discuss options, along with creating collaborative goals for treatment. Based on the information and the assessment we will start working on what are the most pressing issues reported by client. A standard session consist in a check in, review assignments if any, support client in setting up the agenda for the session, review/practice, summarize, assignments and check out. Unless I use more structured approaches,then I follow their structure.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I use Cognitive behavioral therapy, EMDR/ ART for trauma and some attachment work along with Dialectical behavioral therapy for individuals, I use Gottman method for couple , Structural family therapy for family, PCIT/CPP for kids 0 to 7 years old.
