What do you think is the biggest barrier today for people seeking care?

I think that two of the biggest barriers today for people seeking care is limited affordability and cultural perspectives on mental health illness. Mental health illness vary among individuals, families, ethnicities, and cultures. If an individual experiences social stigma, beliefs about mental health conditions can affect an individual's readiness and willingness to seek and comply with treatment.

What do you view as a key component of the therapeutic relationship?

The key component of a therapeutic relationship is to establish trust and understanding. It is important for clients to feel like they are in a safe environment that provides them with empathy and compassion in a non-judgmental space.

What would be important for someone to know about working with you?

I am an open-minded individual who provides genuine emotional support for others. I have hope in every individual that I work with and never give up on them even when they think there's no hope for them.

Work History

I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of NJ. I am also a national certified counselor. My career began in 2014 when I worked at an afterschool program for children and youth impacted by HIV/AIDS. I then joined an outpatient clinic where I have provided individual and family counseling for all ages. Most of the cases I have worked with have been related to domestic violence, child abuse, sexual abuse, depression, post-partum depression, anxiety, agoraphobia, adhd, adjustment conditions, and bipolar.
