What does a first session with you look like?

The first session, as with all Thriveworks therapists, will involve talking through your needs and goals for therapy — whether those involve managing depression, anxiety, relationship problems, or another mental health challenge. This will enable you to receive the very best care, as a personalized treatment plan will then be developed for subsequent sessions. Thriveworks helps people live happier, more fulfilling lives. Clients are guided and supported as they work through their unique mental health challenges – and, along the way, shown the life-changing power of therapy.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I offer a variety of counseling approaches including CBT / Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems. Working with people to create a lifestyle of mental, emotional, and physical health and wellness.

What should we know about your experiences and background?

Gayle Bookout is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) and Life Coach who has 7 years of experience in the mental health field. Gayle desires to help people with anxiety, depression and loss of a spouse/loved one, as well as working with other grief, stress management and weight loss/management. Gayle completed her master's degree in Counseling at Liberty University. Her objective is to help people work through the issues and transitions of their lives and empower them to lead a life free from the bonds of childhood wounds, everyday stress and depression, and negative self-talk, so that they will be able to lead productive and happier lives, find balance, and re-discover their passion. She helps people look for/at the underlying causes of their issues instead of treating just the symptoms, using cognitive behavioral and rational emotive therapies to get to the root of the matter.
