What does a first session with you look like?

The first session, as with all Thriveworks therapists, will involve talking through your needs and goals for therapy — whether those involve managing depression, anxiety, relationship problems, or another mental health challenge. This will enable you to receive the very best care, as a personalized treatment plan will then be developed for subsequent sessions. Thriveworks helps people live happier, more fulfilling lives. Clients are guided and supported as they work through their unique mental health challenges – and, along the way, shown the life-changing power of therapy.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I offer a variety of counseling approaches including CBT / Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems. Unfortunately mental health is often overlooked in modern day healthcare. As a nurse practitioner specialized in treating mental health conditions, my goal is to bridge the gap between physical and mental health care.

What should we know about your experiences and background?

Greg is a dual certified as both a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and a Family Nurse Practitioner who has been exposed to a multitude of mental health disorders and conditions including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and insomnia. He is aimed at bridging the gap between physical and mental health, and passionate about providing quality mental health services. As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Greg will provide education, therapy, and medication management for his clients. Greg will always advocate for his clients and ensure they play the main role in their care. Greg completed his Master of Science in Nursing at Clemson University where he specialized as a Family Nurse Practitioner. After spending a few years in primary care, Greg realized the lack of adequate mental health services and resources provided to clients and the community. With the goal of bridging the gap between physical and mental health and becoming an overall better provider, Greg went back to school at Anderson University where he completed his post-master's certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health. With a lot of experience and exposure to multiple health conditions and disorders, Greg has developed strong clinical skills and the ability to provide patient-centered care. Greg is easily able to connect with his clients and build rapport to create a comfortable environment to provide care. Mental health is often overlooked, and not given the attention it deserves. Greg is here to help you and discuss treatment options that may help you with whatever you are struggling with at this time. If you are ready to get started, schedule an appointment with him today!
