What does a first session with you look like?

The first session, as with all Thriveworks therapists, will involve talking through your needs and goals for therapy — whether those involve managing depression, anxiety, relationship problems, or another mental health challenge. This will enable you to receive the very best care, as a personalized treatment plan will then be developed for subsequent sessions. Thriveworks helps people live happier, more fulfilling lives. Clients are guided and supported as they work through their unique mental health challenges – and, along the way, shown the life-changing power of therapy.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I offer a variety of counseling approaches including CBT / Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems. As a therapist with a diverse professional background, I help my clients identify their own strengths and build new ones so they can achieve their personal goals and live joyful lives. I provide a safe and warm space so my clients can feel welcomed and secured and we can build a strong alliance.

What should we know about your experiences and background?

Anxiety and trauma can cause confusion, worry, fear, shortness of breath, heart palpitations, and can even be debilitating. Greta Wendorf is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a vast experience in counseling. She has a passion for helping adults and adolescents. She specializes in anxiety, trauma, depression, grief, anger management, domestic violence, and Christian counseling. Greta uses several approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-focused CBT, cognitive processing therapy, person-centered therapy, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, emotionally focused therapy, and solution-focused therapy. We all go through challenges in life, and in those times it is helpful to have a professional within our reach to join with us and help us gain perspective and techniques to cope with the challenges.
