What does a first session with you look like?

With each session, I try to be my most authentic self because that is key to developing a trusting and therapeutic relationship. This is also a judgment-free zone. I want this to be a safe space for you and your thoughts and feelings. Our first session will focus on getting to know each other and discussing what brought you to therapy, and if you don’t know, that's OK! As we progress, it will be made clear how we both made it to this point. From that point, we will explore different areas that you want to improve in and create goals toward treatment and healing!

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I have a unique way of using various therapeutic modalities that are tailored to the person I am working with. That can range from the use of CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), REBT (Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy), Problem-Solving Therapeutic Practices, Strength-Based Counseling, Solution-Focused Counseling, and Motivational Interviewing. I also utilize talk therapy and simply listening as Person-Centered Therapy is at the foundation of my practice. I also hope to incorporate some of your interests as well whether it be music, art, nature, poetry and literature, sports, or maybe some humor and laughter so that we can just be ourselves!
