What does a first session with you look like?
I believe that therapy is a collaborative journey. I am deeply invested in providing support and guidance, one person at a time, in a supportive environment free of judgment and criticism. It is important to explore the past to change the present so we can have a better future. This process of working with me is for those who are not afraid of exploring their past and are ready to embrace all the exciting possibilities that come from that. I holistically approach treatment. I also believe in providing individualized solutions and treatment based on your strengths and potential for growth so I am deeply invested in getting to you better so I can better guide you.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I am big on education so I like to share all the educational tools that I have available in my toolkit to teach you more about the workings of your mind and what it means to be human. I also like to use mindfulness tools to teach you to calm the anxious mind so you can learn to be more present in your own life. I approach treatment in a holistic way so assessing the needs (body, mind, spirit) that have been neglected is very important so we can focus on meeting those needs one at a time. I am a psychodynamic therapist so I like to integrate dream work and symbolism with those who are interested in exploring this part of the self. Exploring your attachment style is also important because this helps to identify what obstacles you have encountered in relationships.
