The first session, as with all Thriveworks therapists, will involve talking through your needs and goals for therapy — whether those involve managing depression, anxiety, relationship problems, or another mental health challenge. What is your style/approach to therapy?

I offer a variety of counseling approaches including CBT / Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems. My name is Elizabeth, and I am climbing my mountain of life, just as you are climbing yours.

Helen Forman "Elizabeth" is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who has 6 years of experience in the mental health field. Elizabeth provides counseling services and clinical assessment to adults and couples. Her experience is in community mental health settings with individuals experiencing issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and stress. Elizabeth completed both her Bachelor of Science (BS) in Communication Sciences and Disorders and her Master of Science (MS) in Mental Health Counseling at Longwood University.She utilizes a variety of therapeutic interventions including acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral, person-centered, solution- focused, and mindfulness-based approaches, and she borrows from emotional freedom techniques. Elizabeth also utilizes Gottman methods while working with couples. Sherecognizes that the client is the expert of their story and therapy is not one-size-fits-all. Elizabeth strongly believes that individuals have the potential to live an abundant life in alignment with their values, even in the midst of struggle.
