What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
James is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia with over 10 years of experience in various settings. His experiences include working with diverse populations ranging from children to older adults and utilizes a person-centered approach to wellness. James graduated with his master's degree in Community Counseling and Human Development from Radford University in 2011. He began his career working with the community services board providing counseling and assessment for individuals experiencing mental illness and/or substance abuse issues. He has experience in providing therapy and clinical supervision for community-based programs providing intensive in-home services to at risk children, adolescents, and adults diagnosed with mental health disorders. He has spent the past 4 years providing individual and couples therapy in a private practice setting. James views each individual and situation as unique and utilizes an eclectic person-centered approach to therapy. He draws from different counseling theories to have flexibility in meeting each individual where they are at in life. It is his hope to guide you on your path to healing and personal growth.
