What does a first session with you look like?
The first session will consist of learning about your background and history, including any issues you would like to address in therapy. Following the initial meeting, we will focus on treatment goals and work on finding methods to address those goals. Sessions are typically 50 minutes although we can schedule more time if needed.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I use treatment methods that are effective in treating mental health problems. I use an eclectic approach based on the client's goals and expectations to guide the process. In particular, I use Cognitive Behavioral techniques, problem-solving strategies, mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing to name a few.
