I have been counseling for 11 year as a Licensed Professional Counselor with a focus on treating the whole person to help clients achieve their goals; big or small. I am trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and solution focused. In addition, I have completed the Mental Health Diabetes Education Program from the American Diabetes Association. I provide trauma sensitive care particularly when working with substance abuse, trauma, anxiety, depression, and dissociative identity disorder. I am able to provide these methods of treatment through relatable terms helping clients to understand why they are struggling and simplifying the next steps to healing.
During the first session you will get to tell your story, what brings you to therapy. You will walk away not feeling judged and with a sense of understanding yourself. Overtime, you will learn the tools to self regulate your emotions outside of sessions, creating confidence to overcome challenges. You will feel less isolated and alone after learning how to access healthy supports for all of your needs. I have familiarity working with women who have experienced sexual assault, domestic violence, and addiction. In some cases, leading to the nonjudgmental diagnosis of Dissociative Identity Disorder helping to individualize their treatment and created the sense of being heard. These women confronted their anger and gained control of all their parts in order to collaborate on a daily basis.
