The first session, as with all Thriveworks therapists, will involve talking through your needs and goals for therapy — whether those involve managing depression, anxiety, relationship problems, or another mental health challenge. This will enable you to receive the very best care, as a personalized treatment plan will then be developed for subsequent sessions. Thriveworks helps people live happier, more fulfilling lives. I offer a variety of counseling approaches including CBT / Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems. I truly understand how hard it is to find a provider you feel comfortable with. I am passionate that each person deserves to be treated with kindness and respect.

Janet Smith has a Doctorate in Nursing and as both a Psychiatric and Family Nurse Practitioner, she strongly believes in the mind-body connection and a holistic approach to mental health.She specializes in Autism Spectrum Disorder, diagnosing Autism in adults and teens, and high-functioning or Asperger s Syndrome. She also is experienced in treating depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar, and many other conditions. Janet welcomes diversity and is an ally for LGBTQIA+ as well as a lifelong supporter of all minorities, religious beliefs, and backgrounds. Dr. Smith has been an RN since 1996 and since then she has moved around the country earning a Bachelor's at Regis University, a Master's at Wright State University, a Doctorate at Touro University Nevada, and a Post-Doctoral degree Brandman University. She has worked as a Nurse Practitioner in a variety of settings including hospice, family practice, and psychiatry.Because she has a background in both physical and mental health, she is comfortable treating all ages and those with complex medication needs. Janet is an active listener who is invested in her patient s well being. Not only does she know how to connect with her clients and make them feel at ease, she carefully listens for details and asks many questions, so she can accurately diagnose and appropriately treat. She also encourages clients to take an active role, ask questions, and be collaborative partners in their own mental health care.
