What do you view as a key component of the therapeutic relationship?

A key component to a therapeutic or any relationship is trust. From trust breads opportunity to validate and accept without judgment.

In what ways have your personal experiences influenced your work with your clients?

My personal experiences of being married, having two children, one with special needs, and being a business owner of two successful businesses through the past 25 years has helped me to have empathy, resources, and coping skills to share and model as I have practiced over the years. In addition to resources, techniques and strategies to overcome symptoms of depression and anxiety. I have lived on the east and currently on the west coast, and have incorporated a diverse multi cultural perspective on relationships and community in my personal and professional life. In addition to overcoming my own experiences of loss, depression, anxiety low self esteem and rational challenges as a young person. All of these personal experiences have helped to develop me into a well rounded successful therapist when helping a variety of clients.

Are there any recurring themes or issues you’ve noticed as you treat people in your area of specialization, and how has this insight guided your approach?

A recurring theme that I have noticed in working with others has been the great need for validation, understanding, empathy and acceptance.
