What does a first session with you look like?
I am primarily a Solution Focused therapist. That means, I tend to ask you what your goal is, where you want to be in a few months/a year from now, or what change are you looking for. While there are times that "processing" is needed. My goal is to help people move their life forward, and for that reason, I don't do a lot of long-term therapy. My goal is to have clients come in anywhere from 6 - 15 sessions and then take a break from therapy and practice all the skills.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
Again, I'm pretty eclectic so my treatment methods vary per person. But I do like to "talk" through some issues, brainstorm, and be "cognitively challenging". I also use worksheets, give homework, and challenge you with new ideas.
