What does a first session with you look like?
I use a client-centered approach which means that you and I will work together to identify your goals for therapy and what modalities are most suitable for you to explore and process the issues that you want to work on. We will identify opportunities to create positive change in your life and coping mechanisms you can utilize to manage any distressing thoughts or emotions that arise during this work.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I utilize a combination of Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectical Behavioral, Family Systems, and Psychodynamic modalities. I am also trained in EMDR which is a trauma-focused therapy that uses bilateral stimulation (eye movement, audio, handheld tappers) to process and heal from traumatic memories.
