I believe therapy is a tool used to promote healing and self-awareness. Successful change starts with the will and motivation of an individual to gain insight as a person and focus on changes that promote a healthy and happier life. During our clinical sessions, I will provide a safe and comfortable environment where you will be able to express your concerns, thoughts, and emotions. Humor is my third language and I use it in sessions to make my clients feel more at ease.
My clinical approach is utilizing cognitive-behavioral techniques. Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is a goal-oriented treatment that encourages one to change patterns of thinking or behavior that are behind people’s difficulties and help change the way we feel. My approach is culturally-sensitive, non-judgmental, and strength-based. I also incorporate existential therapy in order to focus on the human condition as a whole and to highlight our capabilities encouraging us to take responsibility for our successes. Therapy is client-focused and designed towards the needs and goals of the client and, as a therapist, I am here to help you achieve those goals.
