Learn more about my:
What does a first session with you look like?
That they can have a fair, two-way conversation with me--where they are heard, understood, and valued. Very often, I have found that clients are thirsting for safety from others--where they are listened to--and not judged. I have found great comfort in the Rudyard Kipling quote, "For the strength of The Wolf is The Pack--and The Strength of The Pack is The Wolf." Don't be a lone wolf. The wisdom of your pack is just an email or phone call away.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I consider the positive characteristics of my clients--to help each of them search for self-awareness and growth that is anchored in wisdom, discernment, grace, and mercy--for self and for others. We tend to have a personal sense of our behavior--what works, what doesn't, and what changes we thirst to make in our lives. I emphasize a person’s positive traits and behaviors, how we can learn from the past, heal, reload and relaunch. Self-forgiveness is vital, and the sooner we release from guilt, shame, fear, and doubt, the sooner healing can occur. My theoretical orientations include—but are not limited to—Emotionally Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Attachment Woundedness Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Trauma Therapy and Talk Therapy.
