I practice using a combination of CBT, person centered approach and some motivational interviewing skills to assess where you are in the stages of change. I like to utilize SMART goals which are written as a collaborative effort between the client and therapist. I also enjoy assisting clients in discovering ways of expressing their story using creative outlets such as writing, art or music. Throughout treatment, I will assign small activities for you to complete between sessions, because I do believe in a practical approach.

Clients can expect some knowledge and skill building, as well as time for reflection. Depending on where your needs are this can change. I will often recommend further community resources that you can access, in order to build up your foundation of support. Throughout the process, you can take away some healthy coping skills and an increased understanding of yourself. You will also learn ways that you can become your own advocate.
