What does a first session with you look like?

You can expect us to develop trust and rapport as a team in our work together. You will be able to share information about yourself and your life and feel supported. Therapy is a uniquely individual process which is the basis for my integrative approach. It is important for you to feel heard, seen, and understood while we collaborate to meet your treatment goals. You can expect to have an ally as we continually develop a deeper understanding of yourself and work towards solutions to help you feel better.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

My integrative approach to therapy is tailed to the client’s needs. I believe in assisting clients to explore the underlying causes of their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. With this understanding in hand, we will integrate this awareness with eclectic methods to mindfully develop self-compassion and liberate clients’ abilities to develop affirming patterns of being in the world. I utilize a variety of treatment modalities including Person-Centered Therapy, Strength Based Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Psychodynamic Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Practices, and Solution Focused Therapy. I have additional training in disordered eating, erotically expansive clients (polyamory, kink, consensual non-monogamy) and integrative sex and couples therapy, and am a Certified Sex Therapy Informed Professional (CSTIP). My style and approach are respectful and sensitive, making the therapeutic process appropriate for clients in different stages of life.
