What does a first session with you look like?
During your first 1-3 sessions will we explore your biological, psychological and social history. We will identify treatment goals and how to reach them. I will provide you with education and resources, tools and information related to your concerns and goals. During subsequent sessions we will explore your presenting concerns, current stressors, related thoughts, feelings, behaviors and coping strategies.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I will suggest methods and interventions based on your goals and interests. I am most familiar with evidence based techniques used to address anxiety, depression, life changes, loss, and trauma. I regularly develop my skills through trainings and utilize DBT, CBT, ACT, gratitude journaling, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, Gottman Method, and solution focused techniques.
