What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
Kate McKenna is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Illinois who has been practicing since 1999. She holds a Masters in Social Work. Kate has been practicing in the social work field for 25+ years and it has been an honor to have a range of experience with clients through supportive emphatic listening, problem solving/solution focusing techniques and enhancing skill strengthening goals. She continues to practice an eclectic theoretical framework of tools. Kate finds it imperative to meet each client individually in the clinical process presently and to invite them to establish a safe therapeutic atmosphere. This journey may also entail pertinent therapies/modalities (cognitive, psychodynamic) which could help clients to search their past through immersion therapy/trauma work and psychotherapy. Outside of work, Kate enjoys traveling, spending time with her family as she is grateful for each of one of them. She loves to watch sports and attend games. Volunteering over the years has been a passion throughout her community. A continued individual spiritual journey to enhance the importance of compassion and kindness to all she meets to the best of her ability.
