What does a first session with you look like?
During our first session, I will review the reasons you are seeking counseling, gather information about your background, and begin to formulate a treatment plan. I will share with you my treatment methods based on your specific concerns. As we move forward, we will discuss your progress and understand any obstacles that are getting in the way. I will continue to provide guidance, education, and recommendations on the concerns you want addressed, as well as providing a safe space for you to share your story.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I use a variety of treatment methods and tools to address your specific concerns, as well as for shifting concerns as we work together. Specifically, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Emotionally Focused Trauma Therapy (EFTT). The tools I use include psychoeducation, worksheets, articles and books you can read on your own time.
