What does a first session with you look like?

It can be hard to process difficult emotions after experiencing trauma. Sometimes the anger can feel so big—like you’re spinning out of control. Other times, you might blame yourself for what happened and sink into depression. You might be turning away from your intimate relationships and/or turning to food for comfort. If you’re experiencing disturbing symptoms that are making it hard to live your life, please know that you can take back your power and heal. Imagine what life would be like if you felt calm and peaceful again. You could go to work, maintain healthy relationships, and feel good about yourself on a daily basis. In our work together, you will learn to regulate your emotions and effectively manage your distress, so you become free from hypervigilance and racing thoughts.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I have completed professional training that allows me to use the following approaches and methods in our sessions: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE), Enhanced Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Eating Disorders (E-CBT), Exposure with Response Prevention (ERP), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Written Exposure Therapy (WET), Skills Training in Affective and Interpersonal Regulation (STAIR), Trauma-Informed Guilt Reduction Therapy (TriGR), and Image Rehearsal Therapy for Nightmares (IRT).
