What does a first session with you look like?

The first session, as with all Thriveworks therapists, will involve talking through your needs and goals for therapy — whether those involve managing depression, anxiety, relationship problems, or another mental health challenge. This will enable you to receive the very best care, as a personalized treatment plan will then be developed for subsequent sessions. Thriveworks helps people live happier, more fulfilling lives. Clients are guided and supported as they work through their unique mental health challenges – and, along the way, shown the life-changing power of therapy.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I offer a variety of counseling approaches including CBT / Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems. My first goal is to welcome each client into therapy with compassion, understanding, and zero judgement.

What should we know about your experiences and background?

Kelsey Korenkiewicz is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with multiple years of post-graduate experience working in the mental health field. Kelsey is proud of her work with various populations over the years, as it has helped her to become a well-rounded clinician. She is most passionate about working one-on-one with adults as they navigate life changes and look to gain skills to better manage depression, anxiety, and/or relationships. Kelsey especially enjoys supporting women's mental health as they navigate fertility struggles, pregnancy, and parenthood. Kelsey completed her Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology at St. John Fisher College in New York and her Master of Social Work (MSW) at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Both Kelsey's personal and professional experiences allow her to connect with her clients. She understands the unique realities of everyday life and seeks to offer guidance and support to fit those realities. Kelsey utilizes multiple treatment approaches including acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and solution-focused therapy. Kelsey has additional training focused on navigating the impact of pregnancy/postpartum and mental health. Taking the step to ask for help can be scary. Kelsey understands this and is confident that she can help make the journey exciting and fulfilling rather than scary. If you are ready to take that next step, schedule an appointment with her today!
