What would be important for someone to know about working with you?

Working with me means having a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. I take a compassionate and client-centered approach, tailoring therapy to your unique needs while helping you build coping skills and resilience. I value open communication, honesty, and collaboration, ensuring that we work together at a pace that feels right for you. My goal is to help you feel empowered, heard, and supported as you navigate your healing journey.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

My approach to therapy is flexible and tailored to each client’s unique needs. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients recognize and change unhelpful thought patterns, while also providing psychoeducation to deepen their understanding of their experiences and coping strategies. I take a person-centered and mindful approach, creating a supportive space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered in their healing journey. Ultimately, I select the most effective tools and techniques for each individual, ensuring that therapy is both personalized and impactful.

If there was one thing you wish people knew about the therapy experience who might be hesitant to try it, what would that be?

One thing I wish people knew is that therapy is a safe, supportive space where you don’t have to have everything figured out to start. It’s not about being judged or having all the answers; it’s about having someone who listens, helps you explore your feelings, and supports you in making progress at your own pace. Taking the first step can be challenging, but it’s also a powerful opportunity for growth and healing.

Education

CUNY John Jay College of Criminal Justice, Master of Arts, Forensic Mental Health Counseling - MA w/specialization in victimology, 2023

I earned my Master’s degree in Forensic Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Victimology from CUNY John Jay College of Criminal Justice, where I gained a strong foundation in clinical psychology and mental health treatment. My studies covered a wide range of psychological concerns, including anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, and trauma, equipping me with the skills to support clients through various life challenges. With specialized training in victimology and forensic assessment, I also focus on advocacy and therapeutic interventions to support survivors in their healing journey. My approach is rooted in evidence-based therapy, providing a safe and supportive space for individuals to heal and build resilience.

Work History

Previously, I worked as a Clinical Forensic Specialist, where I supported individuals navigating the mental health and legal systems by conducting psychological assessments and evaluations under the supervision of licensed professionals. I helped clients by facilitating interviews to understand their experiences, challenges, and mental health needs while ensuring they felt heard and supported throughout the process. Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, I contributed to developing treatment plans tailored to survivors of sexual violence, as well as individuals experiencing trauma, anxiety, and other psychological concerns. This role deepened my ability to provide compassionate care, advocate for clients, and use psychological insights to guide them toward healing and stability.
