What does a first session with you look like?
The first session will serve as an opportunity for us to get to know each other and for you to share the concerns that you're experiencing. This session will also allow me to learn more about you and develop a plan to help you achieve the goals you're expecting from therapy. The follow-up sessions will be to determine the effectiveness of the plans we agree upon and what is working and what is not. There will be homework for you to that is based on the concerns that brought you to therapy.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I believe in utilizing different therapy techniques based on what you as the client will need. I use Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy techniques. I also use a variety of worksheets and other homework to help you continue to work on your goals in between our sessions.
