In Eastern Time

In what ways have your personal experiences influenced your work with your clients?

I have personally devoted a lot of time towards self-understanding and appreciate its benefits. With self-understanding you become more aware of your strengths, weaknesses and gain improved ability to set goals in your life. Gaining knowledge of self, self-awareness and self-love are essential elements that I explore with all of my clients.

What does a first session with you look like?

My client is especially the focus for a first counseling session as well as subsequent sessions. The first counseling session is more of an orienting and consultation session. I will perform an initial assessment, discuss the reason for your visit and discussed desired outcomes.

How do you determine therapy goals with clients? What does that process look like?

A clients goals in therapy is determined by the clients desired outcomes and what they have decided to focus on during their session.

Work History

I am a licensed professional counselor with 8 years of experience working with individuals, children, families and couples. I have worked with a diverse population in various settings, from private practice, mental health rehabilitation, community and home-based programs, hospitals and school environments. I view counseling in a holistic way, that focuses on whole-person wellness. All individuals are the expert of their own circumstances and lives. My work is about promoting personal growth and development, improving relationships, healing, progress, discovering purpose and affirming who you are. I assist clients in coping, communicating, identifying solutions, making steps toward positive change, making better choices in order to achieve specific goals by reinforcing your strengths, recognizing your abilities and realizing efforts to change. BE WELL! I earned my Master of Arts degree in Counseling and Guidance from Louisiana Tech University in 2013. I am currently licensed in Louisiana and Texas with the Louisiana Licensed Professional Counselor Board of Examiners and Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors. I also serve as a Board Approved Supervisor for clinicians through PLPC supervision in the state of Louisiana.
